Weightless

I am weightless now

floating when I walked a while ago

or is it only my head that floats?

Atop my shoulders - like a balloon

tied to a stake in the ground

moving to and fro, swaying

to the rhythm of the wind

but never able to fully let go

Distances and sizes warp

Of course it does! I tell myself

but how often do I need to

fool myself and compensate

for all the inconsistencies

that I see - experience

Would it be righted

if my head goes back firmly

on my shoulders?

That would be giving up

the sky for the ground

I would miss swaying with the wind

the warped sights that I see now

- too much

I guess I'll sway for a while longer

let the balloon float around a bit

I get a bit sick from all the

movement at times

but the sights are more

interesting - they can have their ground

I'll stick with the wind

- for a while more at least
